Data Conduct at KensingtonWager

What we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you hold under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The desk that holds the records

KensingtonWager Editorial ("we", "us", "the publication") acts as data controller for any personal data we process in connection with this website. We are not a registered gambling operator, do not hold gambling funds, and do not transmit personal data to any operator on your behalf when you click an outbound affiliate link — that journey begins and ends on the operator's platform under their own privacy framework.

Our ICO registration number is on file at our registered office and available on written request. Our Companies House registration number is likewise available on request. We operate as a template publication during the development phase; full registration details will be disclosed to users at commercial launch.

Categories of data we process

Browsing and session data — Page URL, referring URL, browser type, approximate geographic region (derived from IP, not stored at individual level), time on page. Collected automatically via analytics cookies if you consent. Used to improve the editorial product and identify pages that are not rendering correctly on specific devices.

Affiliate click data — A non-personally-identifying click token is appended to outbound operator links when you proceed from this site. The token records the page you clicked from and the timestamp. This data is shared with the operator's affiliate platform so we can attribute sign-up commissions. The token does not contain your name, email, or payment details — those are captured by the operator under their privacy notice.

Contact form submissions — If you write to us via the contact form at our contact page, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This data is retained for correspondence purposes for up to 24 months from the date of your last message, then permanently deleted.

Age-check session token — A sessionStorage entry (not a cookie) is written when you confirm you are 18 or over on the age-gate overlay. This token is erased when you close your browser tab. It is never transmitted to our servers.

Cookie-consent preferences — Your choices from the cookie panel are saved in localStorage under the key kensingtonwager-7b9_consent. This entry contains a compact JSON record of which consent toggles you activated. It is not transmitted to any server — it exists solely on your device to restore your preferences on subsequent visits.

Lawful grounds for processing

Browsing and analytics data: your freely given consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), managed via the cookie-consent panel. You may withdraw consent at any time by reopening the panel via "Cookie settings" in the footer and saving updated preferences.

Affiliate click data: our legitimate interest in generating income to fund editorial work (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), balanced against your interest in an independent guide. You may object to this processing by navigating directly to operator domains rather than using our outbound links — no affiliate token is appended to URLs you type manually.

Contact-form submissions: the performance of a contract or pre-contractual step at your request (Article 6(1)(b)), specifically your request for a response from our editorial desk.

Sub-processors we use

We use the following third-party services that may receive or process data in connection with this site:

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC) — anonymised page-visit statistics, conditional on your analytics consent. Data is processed under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses framework. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Google Fonts — the Inter typeface is loaded from Google's CDN. Your browser sends a request to Google's servers on page load. This is a technically necessary component of the page rendering. Google may log the request IP; consult Google's privacy policy for details.
  • Affiliate networks — click tokens are processed by the affiliate platform linked to each sportsbook. Each operator's affiliated network has its own privacy policy; we include links to operator domains in our comparison table.

International transfers

Google LLC is headquartered in the United States. Data transferred to Google is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and UK extension) or Standard Contractual Clauses. No other transfers to jurisdictions outside the UK/EEA are intentionally made. Operator affiliate platforms may be based in various jurisdictions; consult the operator's privacy notice for their transfer practices.

Retention periods

Analytics data: retained for 14 months in Google Analytics (the Google default), then deleted. Contact-form correspondence: 24 months from last message. Affiliate click tokens: set by the operator's affiliate network — typically 30 days to attribute a sign-up, then deleted. Cookie-consent localStorage entry: persists until you clear browser data or change your preferences.

Rights you hold under UK GDPR

You have the right to: access personal data we hold about you (Article 15); rectify inaccurate data (Article 16); request erasure in certain circumstances (Article 17); restrict processing while a query is resolved (Article 18); receive a portable copy of data you provided with consent (Article 20); object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21); withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing (Article 7(3)).

To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We will respond within one calendar month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.

Adults only

This site is intended solely for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has submitted data to us, contact us immediately and we will delete it without delay.

How we update this notice

We review this privacy notice whenever our processing activities change materially. The "Last reviewed" date in the footer reflects the most recent review. We do not provide advance notice of routine updates; significant changes — such as adding a new sub-processor — will be announced via a banner on the homepage for 14 days. Your continued use of the site after such a notice constitutes acceptance. If you object, you are welcome to cease using the site and request deletion of any data we hold about you.
